  1. Why do I have to get the new Money?
  2. The new Money opens a new chapter in Money history. It is built from the ground-up to support the most recent hardware and software, and future-proof the app for years to come.

    Money enhances and improves the usability of a finance management app, and adapts it to a fast-paced and increasingly mobile lifestyle. Apart from brand new and modern inner-workings, such as a speedy and future-ready 64-bit architecture, it brings a completely revamped user interface, which makes it easier then ever to complete tasks, view information, provides highly visual reports, and embraces the most recent usability technologies from Apple, such as iCloud, Touch Bar, 3D Touch, Fullscreen Multitasking, Widgets, and many more.

    In addition to all this, we have powerful features planned ahead. Such as Direct Downloads from more than 15000 financial institutions across the world.

  3. I have purchased a previous version of Money, why do I have to pay again?
  4. As much as we would love to keep updating the previous versions of Money, it is a powerful tool that requires a team of dedicated professional developers, designers, testers, backed by a team of professionally-trained support staff, all of whom need to be fully equipped with cutting edge technologies to be able to develop amazing products and provide support in the level of quality that customers have grown to expect from Jumsoft over years. We do not sell any ads, so sales revenue is the main source of income to support the team that works hard every day to deliver the apps that you love.

  5. Is there a trial version available for Money?
  6. The new Money is currently exclusive to the Mac and iOS App Stores. These stores do not support trial versions of apps at the moment.

  7. How do I transfer data from previous versions of Money to the new one?
    1. From Money 4 for Mac to new Money for Mac
    2. This is the simplest way to transfer your data. Open the new Money, click File > Import… and select your Money data file. Alternatively, you can simply drag and drop your data file on the new Money app’s window or icon, and it will import your data.

      Please note: importing data into new Money does not modify the data file, so you can keep using the previous version in parallel if you desire so.

    3. From Money 4 for Mac to new Money for iOS
    4. You need to send your Money 4 data file to your iOS device. You can do this in 3 most common ways:

      1. Use AirDrop to send your file to your iOS device (recommended, easiest)
      2. Use iMessage to send the file to your iOS device
      3. Use email to send your data file to your iOS device (please note that some email services use data compression techniques that might damage your file, so we recommend using one of the previous methods to transfer your file)

      When you receive the file, simply tap on it, and it should let you open it with the new Money.

    5. From previous Money for iOS to new Money for Mac
    6. There are a couple of ways to move your Money data from the previous version on iOS to the new version of the app on macOS.

      If you have Money 4 for Mac, we recommend using this method:

      1. Sync your Money data via Dropbox to your Money 4 for Mac
      2. Save your Money 4 data file on your Mac
      3. Open the data file with the new Money.

      If you do not have Money 4 for Mac:

      WARNING: Please make sure that all your data is transferred correctly to the new app before deleting the previous version of Money from your iOS device!

      1. Open Money on your iOS device
      2. Go to Menu > Settings > Documents > Edit
      3. Tap to select the document you wish to transfer
      4. Tap the Share button and select Send by Email
      5. Send the file to your own email address
      6. Save the file on your Mac and open it with the new Money
    7. From previous Money for iOS to new Money for iOS
    8. There are a couple of ways to move your Money data from the previous version to the new version of Money on iOS.

      If you have Money 4 for Mac, we recommend using this method:

      1. Sync your Money data via Dropbox to your Money 4 for Mac
      2. Save your Money document on your Mac
      3. Use iMessage or AirDrop to transfer the file to your iOS device
      4. Tap to open the data file, it should offer to open it with new Money
      5. This should launch Money 5 with your data imported.

      If you do not have Money 4 for Mac, proceed with the following steps:

      WARNING: Please make sure that all your data is transferred correctly to the new app before deleting the previous version of Money from your iOS device!

      1. Open Money on your iOS device
      2. Go to Menu > Settings > Documents > Edit
      3. Tap to select the document you wish to transfer
      4. Tap the Share button and select Send by Email
      5. Send the file to your own email address
      6. Open the email on your device, tap on the attached file
      7. Select Money 5 from the list of options what to do with the file.
      8. This should launch Money 5 with your data imported.
  8. I use Money 3 and want to import my data to the new Money.
  9. The new Money cannot import your data directly from Money 3. Please email our support team at support@jumsoft.com to get assistance.

  10. Can I import my data from other apps/data sources?
  11. Easily! The new Money can import CSV, QIF, QFX, OFX, and MT940 data files. Please see if your app or data source is able to present data in any of these formats. When you have the data file you want to import, open the new Money and click File > Import.

  12. How do I record transfers in the new Money?
  13. The new Money changed the way it handles transfers compared to the previous versions of Money. Transfers are now recorded as transaction categories, so they can reflect a much larger variety of real-life scenarios.

    To record a transfer, create a transaction, go to category selection and find “Transfer to/Transfer from”. This will create all the necessary transactions in related accounts to correctly reflect the movement of funds.

  14. How do I record split-transactions in the new Money?
  15. Create a transaction with the full amount of the income/expense. After that, click/tap the “i” button on the transaction entry to edit it. In the transaction edit window, click/tap the transaction category icon or name, and you will be presented with a ‘+ Split’ option. Use it to add as many splits to the transaction as you need.

  16. How do I record a refund transaction in the new Money?
  17. Create a new transaction and go to category selection, scroll/swipe down to uncover a Refund option at the very top of the category list.

    This can be used when adding splits to transactions to record partial refunds from transactions as well.

  18. I want to reset the app and start over.
  19. Delete your accounts and transactions from the app, and let changes sync with iCloud if you use sync. This should allow starting anew on all your devices.

    If you wish to get rid of custom payees, categories, tags, etc., delete them in the Money Preferences – the changes will be synced across devices as well.

  20. I am having trouble using some of the features of the app.
  21. It may take some time getting used to, especially if you used a previous version of Money or another app to track your finances. We’ve made the new Money to be very streamlined and user-friendly.

    If you need assistance with any feature of the app or something does not work right, do one of the following:

    Mac: click Help > Report a Problem and send us a message.

    iOS: tap Settings > Report a Problem and send us a message.

    …or simply email us at support@jumsoft.com.
