How to Transfer iWork Files to the iPad
Now that many of you have that magic device called the iPad, you naturally want to make the best possible use of it. That includes easily transferring iWork files from your Mac to the iPad so that you can take your ultra-slim friend to meetings and presentations. We have prepared a basic guide to make this task as smooth as possible. In this way, you can also get your favorite Jumsoft templates and themes for iWork on your iPad – just save them as ordinary Pages, Keynote, or Numbers files first.
The first way of transferring iWork files from the Mac to the iPad is very simple: just send them via e-mail to your own address. Then open your e-mail account on iPad and save the attachment file wherever you like.
The second way to transfer files is via iTunes. Here, you are going to need an iPad (obviously), Mac OS 10.5.8 or later, iTunes 9.1 or later, and the iPad version of iWork.
First, plug your iPad into your computer. Launch the appropriate version of iTunes on your computer, select your iPad from the Devices section, and click on the Apps tab. Under the File Sharing section, you’ll find a list of apps currently installed on your iPad that support file sharing. Click on, e.g., Pages, and then simply drag and drop your documents into the Pages Documents area.
That's all you have to do on the Mac side. The data files will now transfer across to the iPad.
Now launch Pages on your iPad. Navigate to the Document Manager screen:
Tap on the folder icon on the top right. Now you'll see all of the documents you have just moved to the iPad from your Mac:
Tap on the file you want, and there it is, with every object ready to be edited, recolored, reshaped, moved, or removed:
If you wish to share or export the file from iPad, click on the bottom left icon:
This is what your recipient sees if you choose to send the file via e-mail:
If you choose to share the file via iWork.com, select an appropriate format:
The same goes for exporting the file to another format:
Now go on and do more with your iPad! For more information on file sharing, go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094. If you have any questions about our templates and themes, e-mail us at info@jumsoft.com.
Relationship Rebuilt. Oh, Yeah!
Every once in a while our tiny team produces something so…right…that we can’t help but brag about it--especially when the production of that something takes over 15 months. Today is one of those times. We proudly present a very special, brand-new version of our contact management gem, Relationship.
Relationships are at the core of every business. Every company is a unique bundle of connections among its employees, partners, and customers. Each of these connections requires special attention, and that’s what Relationship 2 is for!
The fully revamped version is so much more than just a contact management app. In fact, it’s a powerful solution for managing both contacts and projects, boosted by a linking feature for easier and more convenient access.
Apart from the linking capability and Jumsoft’s trademark smooth interface, Relationship 2 offers new top-notch options for contact grouping, an extensive project feature, event syncing with iCal, embedded emailing and browser, and an ability to add a variety of documents from your hard drive. Actually, you can do many different things without even switching to other applications. For example, you can simply import your Apple Mail account to Relationship, link essential email messages to your current business prospect, and create an event that reminds you to send them a touch-base email. You can then peruse prospect-related Web sites, bookmark relevant pages, and create a sticky note listing ideas for a future proposal.
In fact, you should try out all of this out right now. Click here to find out more about Relationship 2 and download the free trial version!
