Relationship Rebuilt. Oh, Yeah!
Every once in a while our tiny team produces something so…right…that we can’t help but brag about it--especially when the production of that something takes over 15 months. Today is one of those times. We proudly present a very special, brand-new version of our contact management gem, Relationship.
Relationships are at the core of every business. Every company is a unique bundle of connections among its employees, partners, and customers. Each of these connections requires special attention, and that’s what Relationship 2 is for!
The fully revamped version is so much more than just a contact management app. In fact, it’s a powerful solution for managing both contacts and projects, boosted by a linking feature for easier and more convenient access.
Apart from the linking capability and Jumsoft’s trademark smooth interface, Relationship 2 offers new top-notch options for contact grouping, an extensive project feature, event syncing with iCal, embedded emailing and browser, and an ability to add a variety of documents from your hard drive. Actually, you can do many different things without even switching to other applications. For example, you can simply import your Apple Mail account to Relationship, link essential email messages to your current business prospect, and create an event that reminds you to send them a touch-base email. You can then peruse prospect-related Web sites, bookmark relevant pages, and create a sticky note listing ideas for a future proposal.
In fact, you should try out all of this out right now. Click here to find out more about Relationship 2 and download the free trial version!

Everything look fine, the apps is surely great and improved quite a lot. But i don’t know why there is no upgrade promo for the customers who bought the relationship 1!. i feel as i was a payebale beta tester with relationship 1, and don’t deserve any gratiture for buing the first version.
Hello Piotr,
Thanks for your feedback. Actually Relationship 2 is a free upgrade to Relationship 1.x users. Just enter the same serial/license number you got .
Dear LS,
when I saw the new 2.0 I was very surprised, did not think you would ever come back with a new version. I asked many times in the past and answer was always will be soon, btw that was in 2008 …
Today downloaded it and I thought yes that has much more potential compared to version 1, also looks very nice, but I am missing some serious syncing functionality and double info and some other remarks:
1. when I add a person in Relationship, it is not added to Address Book. Update: I see when you drop in the TAB Address Book it is also added to it.
2. when this contact is edited, automatically a Birthday of 11 May 2010 is added.
3. why import all mail? Now I have another database with several Gb of mail …:-(((
4. tasks are not synced.
5. you still need to add a picture in Address Book, not possible in Relationship.
6. would be nice to be able to drag people to a project. Too many steps now.
My first 2cts … it seems to be a very interesting new version, but to use it with doubling work, will need some serious adjustments I think. But you might of course think different
.
I like that I can use my old registration, thanks.
Hans
Hi Hans,
Thanks for your feedback. At the moment we are fixing all mistakes we’ve made in release version, so update with fixes and improvements is on the way!
Great.
I do understand you do not want all remarks listed here, if I have more where can I send it to? You can e-mail me on my mail address.
Thanks,
Hans
All the feedback, suggestions and questions are welcome at info@jumsoft.com.
OK,
will test some more and will send a review later this week.
BTW it seems you have mixed some functionality from Entourage, Daylite, Contactizer, a.s.o. hope it is, or will be all, or only, the good stuff
.
iPad version coming soon?
Thanks,
Hans
iPhone and iPad versions are planned to be released in the third quarter of 2010.
One important question, can I use MobileMe, or even better Dropbox for syncing the database, so I would be able to use relationship on my 2 Macs?
As example this, with Dropbox, is working perfectly with Pagico!
It would be very interesting.
Hans
Ok sorry for my “criyn” about license
Glad to see that You remeber Your customers
Hi Hans,
MobileMe sync is already possible!
Yep I know, but that is not working correctly, not all info is synced to another computer.
Love the new look. A couple of things that would be great to have:
1. All the folders I have on mobile me and exchange synced to relationship (just like mail so I could use one interface instead of going back an forth).
2. The ability to print or export the projects info so I could give a copy to my boss (he has a pc and won’t be using the same program but excel or pdf works great).
3. Anyway to link this with your Process program? That allows for export to excel I believe. Just another thought:).
4. Quick entry for tasks/projects without having to have the program open to the task screen (like Things).
This does look great and with an iphone app and quick entry of tasks could replace a few programs for me!
Hi Todd,
We already considering to implement IMAP folders, ability to print and export in the future!
Awesome! Any idea on when that might be coming? I know you have a lot going on and just released this so I understand if you have no idea:). Thanks for the fast response:).
Well, we do not have approximate release date.
Please add “drag and drop”.
Have you looked at “Things” by Culture Code. I have been looking for a Contact Management system for Mac but I really need scheduling for both now and into the future. If you could integrate a couple of their functions like the ability to literally print out all tasks and calendar events into an daily agenda format, that would be awesome. It would also be great if there were a place to log contact with your clients as it happens for reference into the future. Just some ideas.
Hi Donna,
Thanks for great suggestions!
Maybe this is dumb question but I am just beginning to get acquainted with Relationship. Can you do a direct mail piece using your contacts in Relationship? If so, can you refine it down to sub-categories?
Donna
I am an attorney and I have two employees working for me, 1 offsite. I am also out of the office traveling quite frequently. I am switching from windows to all macs and looking for a contact case/project management program. Some that I have looked at are very expensive and would only be using a 10th of the capabilities. Came across your software by googling daylite alternative. I am very interested in trying your software. We have started using mobileme to keep all of our calendars and contacts synced with each other and my ipad. Does relationship allow to sync the contact and calendar with ical and contacts? (this would allow me to then sync it all with mobileme)
Would love to use this program exactly what I need and some of my clients, main problem is the ability to print, and IMAP folders. If this were available this app would be a no brainer for anyone. I get so many people every week asking me about an all in one mail app like Outlook. I will keep looking for a future upgrade.
I’ve been looking for a simple CRM solution for over a year. One year ago, I bought Daylite. It messed with my Address Book and iCal in ways I didn’t like so I uninstalled it and returned it.
I downloaded the trial version of Filemaker Pro… although customizable to the extreme, it’s very intimidating. I need CRM… I’m not a professional database manager.
My search tonight turned up your program. After reading reviews and manuals, I downloaded the trial version. The first thing I notice is that although you have sticky notes, you don’t have “proper” CRM note taking. There is no date/time stamp for the entries. The stickies are just a random collection like I could have on my desk. I would be happy to buy your program if it had a date/time stamped note repository.
There might be more issues… that one just stood out to me initially as a deal-breaker.
Seems to be a good, basic product besides.
Looking forward to buy Relationship.
Although Email functionality needs to be improved. Currently, we cannot create folders, how are we supposed to organize 50 emails that I receive everyday from different clients? Plus, do I need to manually link all the emails? Can linking be not configured for incoming mails (just like message rules in Outlook?)
Any plans to improvise on this?
another problem with Email just came to know – if message gets deleted by mistake, it cannot be moved to Inbox again?
Hi Saurabh,
Unfortunately, at the moment IMAP (including folders/mailboxes) is not fully supported by Relationship email client, however, we plan to improve it in the future. Auto-linking and possibility to move deleted mails back to inbox also coming in the future.
hi i just start use Relationship, i don’t know how to open the attachments of the mails. is it possible?
thank you
Hi Nico,
The only possibility to open attachments is to drag them to desktop and then open by double-clicking.
It looks like I can only send plain text email. What about just using Apple Mail instead of a client in Relationship?
Hi David_G,
Apple Mail integration with Relationship is quite difficult, however, thanks for suggestion!
I’m really liking Relationship in contrast to my current CRM Daylite. Relationship is easy to use and isn’t cumbersome, offering just the right amount of customization. The iOS app is a bonus that I can only say is icing on the cake.
The only beef I have at the moment is with the email integration. I currently use an IMAP setup with all of my email addresses. While Relationship has support for IMAP, it needs some serious love. I would love to see my additional mailboxes/folders, support for html messages/signatures. I would also love to see an option to autolink emails to contacts to further simplify the management process. If these few things are added I could easily see this as a full replacement for Daylite in my shop.
Keep it up guys, you have a solid program here!
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to ask, if there has been some updates concerning the IMAP problems.
Because I have only IMAP accounts myself (like Eric above) I would like to know if Relationship can be used with IMAP email accounts and how difficult it is to set it up?
Or is it possible that Relationship just uses all the settings and accounts of the Mail App?
Do you plan to integrate an autolink feature in the near future?
Best regards,
Daniel
I’d like to second the suggestion to add auto-linking of email. I think this will be a good product, but I won’t buy it until you make the email system nicer.
Hi,
SOrry but I’m a new user, and would like to know if R2 is also a full fledged email program.
Or do I have to use Apple Mail?
And do I have to use ical too?
Or is R2 a CRM, SFA, email, and calendar scheduler all in one?
Also, i sell insurance to both individuals and corporates. Are their contact records for both individuals and companies, and are those records customisable fully?
Thanks.
Do you plan to support time tracking? I need that for project management.
Hmm, is it possible to add a clickable link to a contact who is linked to a task? I can see the name of the contact linked to the task, but it would be useful if I could click that link to send an e-mail to that person, or see their phone number, etc. Just seeing their name linked to a task isn’t as helpful as it could be.
Thanks,
Mark
Also, is it possible to sync tasks with iCal? I want to use Minco for time tracking, and it will automatically import “today” tasks from iCal. So this would be an easy way for Relationship users to have time tracking.
One other suggestion: The main task list should show the project that a task is linked to. For example, if I have three website projects and each one has the task “Install WordPress,” my task list for today will show “Install WordPress” three times, but each entry will not have any additional information.
Regarding my suggestion above, there are a couple of ways this could be done:
- The project could be shown in the link area, just as a linked contact is shown.
…or…
- The project name could be added to the task name in the general task list. So, in the example above, the task list would show “Company website: Install WordPress.” This is how another Mac to-do product handles it.
No matter what, it’s important to see in the general task list which products a task is linked to.
One more suggestion: Opportunities.
This is important for true CRM…ability to track opportunities by stage and percentage.
Just a thought.
I’ve done quite a bit of searching on the internet for the ideal software tool…and have always come up short.
While I like relationship, I think it’s critical that a number of features be added:
1. A more robust email client alternative that can both tag and utilize IMAP folders. This makes organizing emails easier for searches when you don’t know what project they’re associated with.
2. A more robust document and notes manager, that seamlessly links to projects, can be easily searched (similar to devonthink) and can provide previews directly in the software rather than having to go through preview.
3. Full integration both across the Mac (with mail and calendar) as well as over servers like Exchange…so that everything is synchronized.
Implement this functionality and that would make relationship the only product to consider for organization.
Oh and a much more prevalent task manager. Something that remains prevalent as one looks through projects so to provide additional context to both the macro (all of one’s responsibilities) and the micro (the particular task one is focusing on).
And linking documents, notes, emails to tasks.
I cannot get any email from gmail.
I have set my account as an imap but it’s not receiving any.
Any solution everyone?
Hi Kay, Contact us at bugs@jumsoft.com regarding this issue.
Thank you a bunch for sharing this with all of us you really recognize what you’re speaking about! Bookmarked. Please additionally talk over with my web site =). We may have a link trade arrangement between us
Hi Guys, I’m giving R2 a try after struggling with Daylite (seems to be common, R2 has a great opportunity to plug the gap between basic iCal and full CRM users like me). Are there any tutorial videos available? I’m struggling to get me head around using R2 mail, what it can and can’t do etc as I was expecting it to be the same but there are limitations.
- some video tutorials would be great, Cheers guys, love your work.
