You Asked for It: Money for iPad is Out!

This time of the year we become really quick and responsive. It’s all that sunshine, the birds, the bees, and the food supplements, you see. Powerful stuff. So it’s only natural that we’re releasing a version of our pride and joy, Money, adapted for a device that’s been on the market for 15 days or so. And no, it’s not Tell Me Your Secrets Bear – ain’t that exceptionally creepy, by the way?

So actually, it’s iPad. Lots of you have already picked up one of these toys and begun showering us with inquiries about Money. All there was for us to do was: 1) make Money for iPad; 2) make it quick; 3) make it free, just like the iPhone version. Happy days, eh?

The iPad version is essentially the same as Money for iPhone. It allows you to create different types of accounts for your cash, bank accounts, credit cards, and investments. Then, you can begin entering transactions and viewing the balances for each account. Budget Monitor helps you stay within your carefully planned budget, while the Bills section reminds you of amounts due to be paid. You even have report capability on your iPad, so you can obtain a decent idea of what you spent last week, last month, or last year. All of this, of course, is combined with an elegant interface and is completely free.

It goes without saying that you are able to synchronize Money on your iPad with the desktop version on Mac. For full security, Money for iPad features the ability to set a pass-code to boot, just in case someone gets a hold of your precioussss iPad, such as a foreign spy or a thrifty significant other.

Now that we’ve helped to make your dreams come true, please do stop by the iTunes App Store and get your free copy of Money for iPad, asap! Then send us your feedback at info@jumsoft.com or tweet us on @Jumsoft_team.

  1. It’s been a whereas since I read a really wonderful blog post. Not solely well written but relevant. Congratulations.

  2. Sue says:

cool! nice app.. I’ll check by the App store to grab my own copy of that app…tnx… great post!

  3. Kiki says:

    A little buggy.
It usually hangs itself (crashes) upon synching with the Mac version and takes multiple reboots on bothe ends to get it done. And multiple currencies are apparently not supported either, which is a pain on the road (why else would I use it on an iPad if not for travelling?).

  4. Multi-currencies support is planned for Money for iPhone/iPad 2.0 version that should be released later this year. Regarding crashes – how many approximately data (number of accounts, transactions) do you have? Also can you send us the latest crash logs. (iPhone/iPad crash logs are stored in the [your home folder]/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/[device_name] folder on the computer that you sync with your iPad). So, I need the latest crash log(s) that have Money in their name.

  7. Annie says:

I really don’t understand why a lot of people are going crazy of this gadget. It’s not really worth it at all… anyway, nice blog post! keep it up… ciao!

  8. Marcus says:

Nice application, but I can not use it unfortunately until the multiple currencies are supported. Then I thought, I only use the HK$ accounts for a go and delete the others, which shot me all my bookings of the last year to pieces on my desktop. Ahjaja, as the Chinese say. Looking forward to the updates.

  9. Giedrius says:

    Hi Marcus,

We plan to add multi-currency support in upcoming major update – Money for iPhone/iPad 2.

  10. Sergey says:

What’s date of upcoming major update?

  11. Yogeesh says:

I am not able to see Money for iPad on iTunes AppStore :( . Have you taken it out? I can see only Money for iPhone! I am from India.

  12. Claus says:

Yes I also just found that out. I have Ver. 1.3.4 of Money for iPad installed on my device. I just never got around to start entering my account transactions. Nevertheless, I wanted to do just that and checked on the appshopper website to see if there has been a new update released. Appshopper told me that the program has been removed from the iTunes store…

Now, also my question: “What is up with the iPad app?”

Gee, I’m just glad I didn’t enter any data into the app beforehand. I would be really pissed by now.

  13. Giedrius says:

Hi Claus, sorry for inconvenience. We plan to release Money version specifically built for iPad (v2) in upcoming few weeks.

  14. Claus says:

Thank you for your response. Will the app update by then?

  15. Giedrius says:

Hi Claus, We plan to roll out new version of Money for iPad, however, we do not plan to update the old version.

  16. Brad Caldwell says:

    OK folks,
I purchased Money for iPad, I can’t sync with my Mac version, now I hear you have removed money from the store, can you please let me know what is going on with it?

    Thanks,
    Brad

  17. Giedrius says:

Hi Brad, Current Money for iPad version sync only with Money 3, however, we plan to release Money for iPad v2 (which will sync with Money 4) in few upcoming weeks.

  18. Dennis says:

We need a new version of the iPad app!

  19. Giedrius says:

Hi Dennis, We plan to release Money for iPad in near future.

  20. Rich says:

Any way you can be a bit more specific on the release of version 2 for iPad? I’ve been hearing “A few weeks” and “near future” for quite some time now. I know there’s a lot of work in software developement and debugging, but now with the iPad OS upgrade, I can’t run this program at all, and if I can’t count on the new version within the next couple of weeks, I’ll have to look for an alternate program.

  21. Giedrius says:

Rich, We plan to release Money for iPad only with full iCloud support, that is why it takes so long to release it.

  22. lucas says:

Cant wait! Hope you ll release it soon.

  23. Sean says:

Hi does it support banks and bank account details in Hong Kong so outside the U.S thanks

  24. Giedrius says:

Sean, Money 4 direct-downloads supports only US banks, but we plan to extend supported banks list in the future!
