  1. Thank you. I was beginning to think you’d forgotten about Process :)

With all these GTD style apps (iGTD, OmniFocus, Actiontastic, Things) coming along I’d been looking into making a move. This update will keep me happy for now.

It would be nice to get some idea where Process is going though, what features are you adding? When exactly is ’soon’? Weeks, Months?

  2. Hello Adrian,

There will be new Process version only for Leopard coming in about a month. It will have new interface, new features (For example - Archive, where you can put done items).

  3. Really looking forward to the updates - using SOHO notes at the moment due to to bugs. Process is so much nicer to use.
Will new version have timelines? Like mini project manager.

  4. Hello Simon,

There will not be timelines in the next release, but it is in our plans for future releases.

  5. Thanks Martynas, I’m looking forward to a nice xmas present then :)

Timelines? Hmmm. I like that fact that Process has a slightly unique position, between a todo list manager and project manager, timelines might well take it too far into project management territory.

  6. Thanks for the Leopard fix - I have been wanting to get back into using Process. I love the simplicity and the overall single progress bar.

I also like the way I can attach and view inline files like JPEG’s, and PDF’s, however PDF viewing seems to not work anymore - still links the file just doesn’t view internally (which I loved). Also if you can have the option to adjust the viewing size that would be beneficial since it automatically reduces the sizes of graphic files based on the size of the view pane.

Another big improvement (which I am sure you are aware of) would be to remember what directory location you were last in when linking files. This little inconvenience drives me crazy but hasn’t stopped me from using it.

I totally understand having to balance simplicity with additional features, and yes there are additional things I would like to be able to do, however I would prefer to have it do what it does really well versus a bunch of options not well thought out. Can’t wait to see the next version. Keep up the great work.

  7. The next version of Process will not ne available for 10.4, is that really true? This is not very nice for 10.4-users. I would appreciate it, if older OS-versions will be supported by your actual software at least 1-2 years after the new OS version was released.

  8. Greg,
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. We’ll fix these in the next version.

Reiner and others 10.4 users don’t panic :) Next version of Process will use some technology, that are available only on Leopard. But, of course, we can disable these (only Leopard) features while running on earlier OSX versions, so there will be new version for 10.4 users as well.
