Trying to download this with Safari 3.0.4 results in “Mounting failed” error.
Comment by Labsix — 7 November 2007 @ 5:29 AM
Hello Labisx,
Hm, this is strange. I have just tried to download money.dmg with Safari 3.0.4 (5523.10). It downloaded and mounted that dmg without any problem.
Did you try to download once more?

Hi-
I’m a longtime PC user who’s ready to do a switch to Mac. One holdback is my love of Quicken and the 12 years of information is contains.
Will your product import all of this info and provide the same usability as I have now on my pc?
Also, can your product manage different users? Such as 3 totally independent files for me, my wife and our joint accounts?
Thanks,
John

Hello John,
Money can import files from Quicken (or from other programs) in qif or ofx formats.
What about usability. Well it is hard to compare different programs. Money is a program made firstly for Home business. So, maybe Quicken has more functions, but I would say Money’s strength is simple, easy to use interface and of course it offers all main features that other accounting programs have.
Money 2.5 (and earlier versions) stores its data in file, that is stored in User’s Library/Application Support/ directory. So, for 1 MacOS account you can have 1 data file.

Yes. It’s strange. I am unable to install any of your software. The file does download. Safari continues to give a “Verification Failed” error when downloading. Then when I try to mount the dmg file I receive a warning “The following disc image failed to mount” and the reason is listed as “codec overrun”. I have never had this problem when installing several other applications. But the same thing has happened when trying to install Money, Operation, Process, and Relationship.

Can you write email to info@jumsoft.com what programs you want to download. We’ll send you them archived to .zip file.

Hi, I am looking for a software that will manage my personal finances and my future business. Will this product allow me to enter as many bank accounts that I’d like? Also, will I be able to link it to my bank so that I’m I don’t have to manually enter things?
Thank you.

Unable to input Cost/Shares when creating a “security”. Feature will get the stock price but other than that, that’s all it will do.

Hello Julie,
Yes, you can have as many bank accounts as you like.
You can connect to your bank through webbank feature and if your bank allows downloading transactions in qif or ofx format, you can download it through webbank and it will be imported after download.

Hello Kelly,
Cost and shares values in portfolio are calculated from Investment accounts. You have to create some Buy and/or Sell Transactions of some securities and then Portfolio calculates how much shares do you have.
Lets say you add Transactions: Buy 20 apple shares, Sell 8 apple shares. Then in portfolio you’ll see 12 shares of apple, cost and market value of them.

Is it possible to enter stocks that trade on the Canadian stock exchanges? I’m all set to buy this if it can deal with Canadian stocks. I can’t seem to get it to work. I continue to use a PC solely to run Microsoft Money. In microsoft Money, I can just add a CA: in front of the stock symbol. For example: CA:BMO gives me the price in Canadian dollars of Bank of Montreal.

Hi,
will there be a german translation of the program soon?
That would be totally nice!
Thanks!
Micha

Dan,
No, current version doesn’t allow to enter Canadian stock exchanges.
Micha,
It will be in the future. But firstly we want to add more features and only then perform localizations.

Hi, I’m trying to install the demo of Money, but am also receiving the “failed to mount” error with your image. My problem is exactly as described above…even when I download your .dmg from apple.com/downloads, the same error.
Did you guys ever figure out a solution for this? Did the other user above get around this somehow? I’d really like to give Money a go! Thanks!
